DMnu Anwid BUKy kvlu thkyv ] (873-1)Dhan anaad bhookhay kaval tehkayv. Blessed is that grain, by which the heart-lotus of the hungry blossoms forth. Dnu Eie sMq ijn AYsI jwnI ] (873-2)Dhan o-ay sant jin aisee jaanee. Blessed are those Saints, who know this. iqn kau imilbo swirMgpwnI ]1] (873-2)tin ka-o milibo saringpaanee. ||1|| Meeting with them, one meets the Lord, the Sustainer of the World. ||1|| Awid purK qy hoie Anwid ] (873-2)aad purakh tay ho-ay anaad. This grain comes from the Primal Lord God. jpIAY nwmu AMn kY swid ]1] rhwau ] (873-3)japee-ai naam ann kai saad. ||1|| rahaa-o. One chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, only when he tastes this grain. ||1||Pause|| jpIAY nwmu jpIAY AMnu ] (873-3)japee-ai naam japee-ai ann. Meditate on the Naam, and meditate on this grain. AMBY kY sMig nIkw vMnu ] (873-3)ambhai kai sang neekaa vann. Mixed with water, its taste becomes sublime. AMnY bwhir jo nr hovih ] (873-4)annai baahar jo nar hoveh. One who abstains from this grain, qIin Bvn mih ApnI Kovih ]2] (873-4)teen bhavan meh apnee khoveh. ||2|| loses his honor in the three worlds. ||2|| Cofih AMnu krih pwKMf ] (873-4)chhodeh ann karahi pakhand. One who discards this grain, is practicing hypocrisy. nw sohwgin nw Eih rMf ] (873-4)naa sohaagan naa ohi rand. She is neither a happy soul-bride, nor a widow. jg mih bkqy dUDwDwrI ] (873-5)jag meh baktay dooDhaaDhaaree. Those who claim in this world that they live on milk alone, gupqI Kwvih vitkw swrI ]3] (873-5)guptee khaaveh vatikaa saaree. ||3|| secretly eat whole loads of food. ||3|| AMnY ibnw n hoie sukwlu ] (873-5)annai binaa na ho-ay sukaal. Without this grain, time does not pass in peace. qijAY AMin n imlY gupwlu ] (873-6)taji-ai ann na milai gupaal. Forsaking this grain, one does not meet the Lord of the World. khu kbIr hm AYsy jwinAw ] (873-6)kaho kabeer ham aisay jaani-aa. Meditate on your Lord, you lazy man! ||1||Pause|| gieAw ipMfu Brqw ] (873-10)ga-i-aa pind bhartaa. Offering sweet rice at Gaya, bnwris Ais bsqw ] (873-10)banaaras as bastaa. living on the river banks at Benares, muiK byd cqur pVqw ]2] (873-10)mukh bayd chatur parh-taa. ||2|| reciting the four Vedas by heart;||2|| sgl Drm AiCqw ] (873-11)sagal Dharam achhitaa. Completing all religious rituals, gur igAwn ieMdRI idRVqw ] (873-11)gur gi-aan indree darirh-taa. restraining sexual passion by the spiritual wisdom given by the Guru, Ktu krm sihq rhqw ]3] (873-11)khat karam sahit rahtaa. ||3|| and performing the six rituals;||3|| isvw skiq sMbwdM ] (873-12)sivaa sakat sambaadaN. Expounding on Shiva and Shakti mn Coif Coif sgl BydM ] (873-12)man chhod chhod sagal bhaydaN. - O man, renounce and abandon all these things. ismir ismir goibMdM ] (873-12)simar simar gobindaN. Meditate, meditate in remembrance on the Lord of the Universe. Bju nwmw qris Bv isMDM ]4]1] (873-12)bhaj naamaa taras bhav sinDhaN. ||4||1|| Meditate, O Naam Dayv, and cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||4||1|| goNf ] (873-13)gond. The deer is lured by the sound of the hunter's bell; pRwn qjy vw ko iDAwnu n jwey ]1] (873-13)paraan tajay vaa ko Dhi-aan na jaa-ay. ||1|| it loses its life, but it cannot stop thinking about it. ||1|| AYsy rwmw AYsy hyrau ] (873-13)aisay raamaa aisay hayra-o. In the same way, I look upon my Lord. rwmu Coif icqu Anq n Pyrau ]1] rhwau ] (873-14)raam chhod chit anat na fayra-o. ||1|| rahaa-o. I will not abandon my Lord, and turn my thoughts to another. ||1||Pause|| ijau mInw hyrY psUAwrw ] (873-14)ji-o meenaa hayrai pasoo-aaraa. As the fisherman looks upon the fish, sonw gFqy ihrY sunwrw ]2] (873-14)sonaa gadh-tay hirai sunaaraa. ||2|| and the goldsmith looks upon the gold he fashions;||2|| ijau ibKeI hyrY pr nwrI ] (873-15)ji-o bikh-ee hayrai par naaree. As the man driven by sex looks upon another man's wife, kaufw fwrq ihrY juAwrI ]3] (873-15)ka-udaa daarat hirai ju-aaree. ||3|| and the gambler looks upon the throwing of the dice -||3|| jh jh dyKau qh qh rwmw ] (873-15)jah jah daykh-a-u tah tah raamaa. In the same way, wherever Naam Dayv looks, he sees the Lord. hir ky crn inq iDAwvY nwmw ]4]2] (873-16)har kay charan nit Dhi-aavai naamaa. ||4||2|| Naam Dayv meditates continuously on the Feet of the Lord. ||4||2|| goNf ] (873-16)gond. Gond: mo kau qwir ly rwmw qwir ly ] (873-16)mo ka-o taar lay raamaa taar lay. Carry me across, O Lord, carry me across. mY Ajwnu jnu qirby n jwnau bwp bITulw bwh dy ]1] rhwau ] (873-17)mai ajaan jan taribay na jaan-o baap beethulaa baah day. ||1|| rahaa-o. I am ignorant, and I do not know how to swim.
